This is one of those problems that has me completely stumped...
I have a Win98 Win2k dual boot setup.
For the longest time, I have used WinDVD 2000 (the 2.x version) that came with my DVD drive, in both OS'es, and it worked fine.
Last week, I decided I wanted to install WinDVD 3, and I did so on the Windows 2k partition.
Ever since, no matter what DVD (new/old, scratched/pristine), it cannot do the transition from one chapter to the next. The sound will sometimes continue somewhat ok, but the video is gone. If I pause at the transition, and then manually select the chapter again, it works ok (but really ruins any movie).
WinDVD 2000 in Win98 continues to work as normal.
---- Flash forward ----
I figured it was something I installed, so I did a clean Windows 2k install (from scratch, even reformatted the harddrive), and installed WinDVD 3 once again. Even tried the upgrade to version 3.1... Same problem. Downloaded the WinDVD 4.0 trial - same problem.
I really don't know what's going on... Yes, I can just watch the movies in Win98, but sometimes I don't want to.
Any ideas?
