WinDVD 2000 ver 2.6- my bundle didn't come with a serial number. What can I do?

I'm building a system for a friend, and the PC CHIPS M810LR mobo comes bundled with WinDVD ver 2.6 (it's on the CD with all the mobo driver files). However, there's no serial number- its not printed on the CD, not in the manual, and nowhere else that I can find. Intervideo says they they don't offer help for bundled software. What could/should I do? It's kind of ironic- I've found tons of other pirate versions looking for a serial number, but I can't get the legitimate copy going.

um, the serial number may be embedded in the installation program. since you cannot install it, i suppose not. i have plenty of bundled software where the serial number is embedded.

use the pirated serial numbers. i dont believe serial number piracy is illegal, if you have a legit copy of the program...

hm usually it does come on the cd:p anyways, since you did buy it, in the mean time you can download a crack/serial off a file sharing program and use it until you get your situation fixed:p

It's not embeded- I looked in pretty much every folder in the CD. And I still have the envelope it came in, but no dice. I've looked all over for a serial number that works with ver 2.6, but haven't found one. I have found, in the process, serial numbers and full downloads for pretty much every other version of WinDVD. I'm going to try to get a hold of PC CHIPS, as bunker suggested, and see if they can help (though their only e-mail address is for sales). If that doesn't pan out, I just might download a comparable verdsion (If I do, I think I'll feel a little like Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption- "On the outside I was honest... I had to come to jail to be a crook."). Thanks for all the input.

What they mean is that the serial is embedded in some .dll file so when you install the program it doesn't even prompt for a serial. You know, you click on "About" and it says something like "Registered To: PC Chips OEM" or something like that.
