Windshield molding/rubber pulling away - fix?

Recently bought a user 2015 Sienna. Never looked at it in the light of day and now that I have, it appears the molding around where the windshield meets the hood intersection has shrunk/curled. I'm thinking a little dab of some silicon based adhesive should resolve this but wanted to reach out to you all for suggestions.

It's really not the rubber that would be holding in the windshield - it's rather a little rubber flashing that runs down the corner of the windshield then under the hood. I think the picture explains it better than I do. This is passenger side, right where the hood/windshield/panel intersect.

Windshields are usually (afaik) held in by adhesive, not rubber. So you can relax on that point.

That piece is probably designed to snap into place, possibly with the aid of some metal clips. If somebody pulled it out (maybe to retrieve something that fell inside) they probably either damaged the molding or (hopefully) just lost a clip. Replacement will "fix" the problem. One of the downsides of how they build cars these days. A dealership tech will be able to tell you what needs doing. A little plastic part like that is probably <$50. And if you can get the part number, you can probably find one super-cheap on eBay or Amazon or something.

Here's hoping it's just a couple clips.

I think it is/was a "click" into place - but not metal clips. It seems to be more of tongue and groove idea. Though it really doesn't have much "bite" to hold it in place. Seems like the rubber has shrink/curled and deformed as to not hold into place anymore. That's why I was thinking a little dab of some adhesive just to hold it back enough into place.

Whatever you do, don't apply silicone adhesives to the body of the vehicle. That stuff is a nightmare if subsequent paint repair is needed.

That part looks like the end of the cowl grille, sometimes they can be ordered separately.
