Hi
I did a clean install of XP and installed my NOrtons Systemworks 2002. I use to be able to click on Nortons Disk Doctor and it would fix any problems on the hard drive or partition
Now in XP, when I choose Disk Doctor it comes up with a message to the effect "that another application has rights to the drive or partition" and wont do all the same checks that it did in 98SE.
Is the problem with XP's Scandisk and if so, how do I disable it so that I can use Nortons Disk Doctor like I use to.
Thanks to all.

Cotton,
Thats normal. The HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) protects any direct access to the drive. There should be a check box for it to run next time you reboot. I think you will find the only way to check the c drive is during a reboot no matter which tool you use.
