You are absolutely right. I've been emailing them but they are very slow to do anything. I've even tried to shame them by telling them that most of their peers have developed x64 drivers and apps for their products.

Does anyone know of any TV tuners/video capture combo cards that have x64 support?

RC2, build 1433 became available for beta testers to download today. I'm downloading it but I won't be installing it until I've played KOTOR2.

Just letting you guys know.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt that the public will get anything past RC1, MS won't go through another CPP release so soon.:(

Sorry ViRGE. And the irony of the situation sucks as I have it on CD right now but won't be installing it until I've played at least partly through KOTOR2.

Surely there wont be that many stunning changes in RC2 since it came out so soon after RC1?

Well, they wouldn't go through the trouble of another RC cycle if there wasn't something worth testing would they? I mean, they are a profit driven company, surely their eye is on the bottom line. :)

Well, looks like I need to insert my foot in to my mouth. RC2 is apparantly being released for everyone at midnight EST tonight.:D I am very much shocked with this, since it's unusual for MS to be so aggressive.

Unknown. The release said that the CPP customers would get the new version.

RC2 is looking solid. Most of my hardware (unexceptional other than the motherboard - dual xeon supermicro x6dal-g) had in box drivers.

Does anyone have a suggestion for anti-virus software? I normally use AVG, but it kicked out of the installer and I don't think it even made a single registry entry. Also, has anyone gotten the disk defragmenter/logical drive mmc to work?

I'm forced to use the built-in tools for defragging and management. Diskeeper 8 Pro installs but when you run it only the stock defrag opens. Oh well, it's better than Win9x defragger.

Thanks. Yeah, the Windows disk defragmenter just locks up on me. Is anyone using anti-virus with RC1?

Update: Nevermind, apparently the latest Avast Home Edition supports XP x64, and it's free. I'm going to try it when I get home later.

I finally instaled Win64 last night. I had to switch to Avast for Anti-Virus, but other than that I am having only one problem. My Dynamic DNS update program refuses to run. Guess I need to search for a new one. Has Anyone had one work in Win64?

I'm using a shuttle box (939 socket). I had to download nvidia's unified driver for sound to work, but the Networkboard worked fine with native Win64 drivers.

I did see a couple of quirks. When I tried to install Office XP, I got an installer error. I had to reboot the PC to get Office to install. Another Office related problem is that I couldn't import my Mail Data from a PST file.

Other than those problems things seem to be working pretty fine.

I don't use OfficeXP but I've installed and used Office 2000 and Office 2003. Both versions of outlook imported from my archive PST file no problem.

Same here.

Anyone who was using RC1 and upgraded to RC2, is there a substantial difference?

I'm using a first tier AV on RC2 and RC1 behind it. Works very well, but can't say much due to unannounced nature of the product.

Better yet, if anyone has upgraded to RC2, where did you get it? The press release said it was supposed to be available for the CPP users, but it hasn't shown up yet.
