Windowsupdate buggy as !!!

I ran Windowsupdate for XP, it crashed after it downloaded the patches and before it installed the one of them. Now, Windowsupdate knows I 'FAILED' to installed them, and yet, I CANNOT re-download them because they are now 'hidden' from me.

It isnt there.

I am looking for the AMD K7 Processor - V. 5.1.2535.0 patch, which is NOT in the corp site.

look! <- see, all my last installation FAILED, and yet, 0 on the left hand side in the Critical updates and the Drivers

I dont think it is the server tho, because I was seeing that AMD patch 5 minutes ago.

Now it is gone because it 'thinks' i have installed it while I actually FAILEd at installing it.

It is clearly another damn bug created by M$ as usual.

Did you select the 'show installed updates'. That should list the updates Windows thinks you already have installed and let you reselect it.

You have already been told that there is a known problem with the WinXP Windows Update site. It's not a bug, it's an aknowledged temporary problem. Let's not blame MS for everything, ok?

Well in all fairness WindowsUpdate up until now had a history of being available and usually pretty fast. At least when I visited. But the nature of the net and MS software in general makes the whole .NET thing look pretty scarey. 🙂

If it is not a bug what is it? A "feature"? A "virus"? If this is a problem with one of Microsoft's services it is Microsoft's fault. Duh.

Funny Microsoft related link!! 😀

And let's not blame them for the complete lack of security, bugs, and instability of their os.

Lets blame me for my overclocked PC that is unstable enough to run M$ WinXP patches becaused it crashed mid-way of installing them.

Only that my comp can run Prime95/3dmark2001/q3 for days...
