Core i7 860 running 64bit and Unreal Tournament 3 crashes right after the splash screen. Ran fine with RC but was using older hardware... Dont have time to give all hardware details as I have to run to work.

Anyone got a clue?

thanks for your time,

Shouldn't be an issue with W7, the RC and release are essentially the same.

Try running in compatibility mode? Ran as an admin?

Have you deleted it and reinstalled it?

Is your memory voltages and timing configured correctly in the BIOS?

Do you have all the latest drivers for your video card, chipset, etc?

I've played UT3 pretty extensively on my Windows 7 64 bit machine, has not crashed at all.

If you have user account control enabled, try disabling it and running UT3. If that alone doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game with UAC disabled.

I don't know if this will help with UT3 or not, but disabling UAC and reinstalling has completely solved several issues I was having with some other games.

You could just install UT 2004 and play Onslaught, which is better than UT3 Warfare anyway.

Both are good.

I'd say if you haven't reinstalled the game, i'd do that.

And make sure chipset/GPU drivers are updated?

Epic had to get their grubby mits onto Onslaught because they were bitter that the most played game mode was a community idea not even their own.

Warfare is a spamfest with the orbs. No thanks. Orbs should not be destroyable by one person, should not be replaced nearly as quickly; they should be more valuable. A strategic advantage on like a 5m recharge cooldown.

Right now it means nothing; anybody just nabs it and goes. No fun. No thanks.

I don't really have a big problem with the Orbs; it added somewhat of a Capture-the-Flag element to the game. I think Warfare isn't as much fun as Onslaught, but not because of the orbs.

I had this problem. I think it was because I had copied my steam folder from a temp directory instead of actually installing the game. Erase the game, and reinstall it. That should fix it.

Reinstall the game, reinstall the latest video drivers, try turning SLI off. See if those help.

although I have a brand new Gigabyte motherboard they just release a chipset software upgrade. I installed it and reinstalled the program one more time. My advice is to look for all the remnents of prior installations to make sure they are removed!!!! Put in patch 5 and the titan pak and whoa, up and running.

with the i7860 and 2X8800 nvidia BFGOC cards the game runs smoothly without the temperature moving from 39C.

thanks again for all the help and taking the time to assist me.

Happy thanksgiving all,
