Problem:
When my monitor is powered off the resolution is changed to 1024x768, causing all non-maximized windows to be clobbed up in the top left part of the screen.
This happens if i turn off the monitor by power button, or if the powersaving timeout puts the monitor in standby. When the display is active again the orginal resolution is restored.
I have tryed to change the values in the HKEY_CC/System/CurrentControlSet/VIDEO tree to no avail.
Monitor is a HP LP2475w on ATI 5800 via display port.
What I want to achive is to keep the 1920x1200 resolution at all times.
I remember seeing a dialog popup some time ago, saying something simmilar to "Connection to the hardware at Display Port 0 has been lost", I think the dialog had an ATI icon.
Do any of you experience the same? on Nvidia, ATI, Intel adaptor, with dp, hdmi or dvi link?
Most importantly, anyone know a fix?
Thanks.
Edit: seems the guys over at hardocp are also seeing this, http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1507324
workaround would be to avoid dp, but no fix seems to be available : /
