Hi u all, I'm here to ask for your help.
That's my system:

MSI K7T Pro 2-A
Duron 800
256Mb Sdram pc133 2-x-x Mosel chipset
Hd IBM 60GXP 61,1GB
LG 8160B
Matrox G450 DH
SBlaster Live! Player 5.1
Epson Stylus Color 980

I have installed the following patches:

1. memory interleave enabler for NT/2000
2. Via 4 in 1 ver 4.34
3. AMD patch for AGP
4. Windows 2000 Service Pack 2

The problem is that my system is very slow! I mean:

1.while playing audio files ( .mp3, .midi, .wav) if I do something else, even opening windows, the audio skips frequently
2.when reducing a window to icon all the desktop icons take 3 seconds before they appear and the mouse cursor moves slowly
3.generally an application take several seconds before it opens and still the mouse cursor is slow
4.winlogon.exe often overload the cpu for 5 mins after the boot has been completed
5.generally the system is slow in all the other ways.

The possible reasons can be:
1. Via 4 in 1 drivers conflict on IRQ 14 and 15 with Primary and Secondary IDE Channell: specifically VIA BM Ultra DMA Channell is in conflict with these IDE Channells.

2.I have used the Via test driver to test VIA 4 in 1 configuration but I have known the test closes RX55 register and only re-flashing the Bios can re-open it.

So I'm asking what I can do!
I'm waiting for your precious suggestions!
Many thanks!

just curious, does that board use the via 686 south bridge? there is a known compatability issue between this south bride and sound blaster live cards.

Yes, it uses the 686B SouthBridge but this issue was said to be solved by via 4 in 1 drivers.
But at this moment I experience problems while installing 4 in 1 drivers.
