Can someone help me ffs...

I tried everything, all I want is that windows10pro doesn't update my nvidia driver, it's all I ask... (new nvidia drivers are bugged so I want to use July 2k16 one, but windows 10 is trolling too hard)

I tried in group policy to set to notify for download and install, I tried other options, I tried with registry, I uncheck the thing I forgot where, that the drivers don't get automatically installed (which doesn't help at all)

"u'll be asked to download updates"
and the download started by itself... I didn't see any download button nor press it

last thing left for me is to disable updates totaly, but that's the step I take in few hours until this anyone finds a way to help

thx

What happens if you install the driver version of your choice manually, does Win10 still try to update it?
it really doesnt matter how u update it, I think..
I install standard driver update + physix and rest I dont want cuz some are allegedly causing stutters, and I install the july version. win10 auto installs the newest, the nvidia control will always be a part of that driver so it always sees the version I guess

To stop windows from updating, go into services. Then find the windows update service. First stop it, then set it to "disabled". Recheck this any time you reboot.

so there is no other way of doing this? this also would mean that if I ever wanted other crucial updates I'd have to update with nvidia, then run uninstaller, then install old one and keep disabling updates again

what a great windows they made.. ******* *******

I personally hate the idea of disabling Windows Update for a scenario like this. However, could it be a workaround until Nvidia stop fudging their drivers?

I would also consider asking on the nvidia forum, possibly for a workaround to this latest driver issue or other peoples' ideas in light of your current WU problem.

I'd consider finding an e-mail address for the team manager at MS for either WU or Win10 and point out the problem; not that it helped when I e-mailed Sinofsky to point out that Win7's chkdsk consumes all available RAM. Still, sometimes if enough people get on their case then they might do something useful about it.

From Control Panel:
System, Advanced System Settings, the Hardware Tab, Device Installation Settings, select No.

Works for me.

ye this didn't work, idk why
So did it ever get back to the driver experience you wanted after it auto updated the first time? Once I disabled the option I mentioned above, I had to uninstall the card from device manager to get it to auto-install the driver that was working.

idk on what page u're on. win10 installs the newest nvidia driver, I want that the old driver is installed, and win10 keeps installing the new one over it, no option helped so far

Right-click card here and choose uninstall:

u're trolling aren't u????
I F-ING DO UNINSTALL IT, I even use certified display driver uninstaller just to remove every ties to every driver that might be installed, then I install the July version of 2k16 and what happens next is fkin win10 installs the newest one.
Pls stop with the troll posts, ain't helpin

The software "uninstaller" did not work for me in my instance of this issue. The uninstall from device manager did work.

for what exactly, so I uninstall from device manager, then I install with nvidia installer or via device manager ? and not knowing how to specificly install then only display + physix driver this way, and when to uncheck that box then

In my case, it automatically installed the driver I had, before Windows Update installed its own.
TALK ENGLISH, WTF, THERE IS ONE AUTOMATIC INSTALL; IT'S FKIN EITHER WINDOWS UPDATE, OR MANUALLY BY YOU, WTF IS WRONG WITH U

Stop yelling and calm down

Dude, give it a rest. Ketchup is under no obligation to help you, and he's honestly tried to help you despite you copping an attitude. By the looks of things he's run out of ideas, so have I, and one other guy made a non-ideal suggestion that might at least help you in the short term. Unless anyone else has any ideas, I think that's the best you're going to get here. Knock the verbal abuse off, least of all because it's pretty likely not to encourage anyone else to make suggestions that might help you with your problem.

In my line of work I've only had one similar scenario to yours, which was resolved by AMD bringing out a newer driver (which didn't have a problem on the PC in question) than the one Win10 was auto-installing.

Its cuz when someone has a problem.. and u suggest them to turn pc off and on over 5 times, it fkin gets annoying. Or when u talk about autimatic installation that doesn't add up to logic.

I disabled win update, and at some point over night it installed itself, pribably ran the reboot when pc out of use, another sweet update addon that u cant turn off

I keep my windows update service disabled and it hasnt re-enabled itself yet. I turn it on once a month when I feel like dealing with its nagging messages about active hours and wanting to restart.

When your try to help OP, he think you are a troll even if he is a newbie.

Like Trump, blame everyone and then fxck everyone.

He doesn't need help, people. Been there, done that.
