x64 runs great on my machine, but it hangs whenever i try to shutdown or restart. Putting it into Stand By works fine. My computer had no shutdown problems in 32 bit XP. My x64 install is only two weeks old.

I read in this thread over at planetamd64 about people having it too, but so far no solution.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, I'm having the exact same problem. It's the only problem I'm having with x64, beyond the lack of Daemon Tools for x64. As long as I get to the "Windows is shutting down" screen I can hit the power button and it'll shut off, and I won't get the "improper shutdown" stuff on startup. It's mildly annoying, but with all the perks I've found running x64 I don't particularly mind. Besides, I hardly ever shut down my computer.
