Windows XP won't let me arrange files by date modified.

This problem has bugged me for a while. In my folders where I stockpile lots of music, XP auto-magically turnes it into a 'music' folder. I go view>customize folder and change it back, but then I still can't right-click inside the folder and arrange by date modified. The choices I'm given are all the music options like track length, artist, album, etc. .

Does anyone know the fix for this?

Thanks for reading!

right click on where it says title lengh and all the crap (the headings where you sort), and select date modified and take out the other crap. now when you right click you will see it.
