I am running into a blue screen problem while attempting to install Microsoft Windows XP onto a Western Digital 120GB HD. This is a brand new system configuration and everything is set to default. The BIOS detects my optical drive and the HD without a hitch. It is sitting on the primary IDE controller as a single drive. I am able to boot from CD and even format the drive using XP. However, when it comes to installing the OS the computer hangs and I am greeted with the blue screen of death. As far as I can remember the error message reads: page_fault_at_nonpage_area.

My system specs are as follows:

Asus P4S8X
Intel P4 2.53GHz
512MB PC2700 (Mushkin)
Antec 1080 430W
Western Digital 120GB
Pine CD-ROM
Pioneer A04
ATi Radeon 9700 Pro (And, yes, I have tried replacing the video card and trying the installation again and I get the same results)
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX

If anyone has any information in regards to this problem and how I may be able to resolve it I'd really appreciate it.

Every time I've had a problem installing an OS it was caused by bad memory. Try swapping out the memory.....maybe you've got a bad stick in there.
