Windows XP Wireless connection dropping

I've read all the FAQ's and googled the hell out of this problem, but nothing I've tried has fixed the issue:

My parent's computer is running a fully updated copy of Windows XP. They have a USB-style Linksys wireless adapter plugged in and installed perfectly. (Along with the Linksys wireless connection manager program that sits in the system tray) My home wireless network is working properly, as none of my other computers in the house are having the issue...

But this particular computer randomly disconnects and drops connection every ~15 minutes or so.

Things I've tried...

Turning off the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service in services.msc

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i had this problem with a crappy card. the WUSB600 doesn't exhibit this problem.

never could solve it

Time to buy a new wireless card. It should fix that.

Good luck!

I moved my router a little closer to the XP machine, and I haven't had any problems since. If it drops out again, I'll order a newer and better-reviewed card. Thanks, everyone!

Also you might try manually switching the card to a channel with less users, if you are in an area with dense wifi use!
