Windows XP will not install

Cannot get windows xp pro to do a clean install using raid setup. Have tried loading fail safe bios settings, optimized settings, still hangs at "loading windows setup". This is just before the format screen. The only way it will load is to load win 2000 and then do an upgrade. I have 2 computers one with abit kg7 Raid and one with kt7a-raid. I cannot load xp on either from a clean install. Have flashed the bios on both. Still no luck. Has anyone had this trouble? It will install fine using one hard drive on the regular IDE channel.

There's an option to load optional SCSI or Raid devices or something to that effect when you boot off the cd to start setup (it tells you to press F6 or F8 down at the bottom).. did you try doing that? I know that's the only way I was able to do a fresh install of Win2k on my Promise ATA66.. but then again, I didn't have the drives in raid either. Might be worth a shot..

When you boot off the winXP disc to do an install, there will be a message asking you to "press F6 to install additional RAID or SCSI drivers"....

Do that and pop in your RAID driver in the floppy... see if that works...

MAKE sure it is a floppy....XP, 2000, NT will only take floppy's for 3rd party devices. And it's F6. It should tell you to HIt F6 as soon as the blue screen pops up for the first time.

Also are you running a Geforce3? I have seen some posts where people are having problems doing a fresh install with Geforce3.
