Windows XP Upgrade question

I built my system about three years ago and had a tech install Windows XP Home. I have the Windows XP CD but note that it has Upgrade on it. I am seriously considering a clean reinstall. Can I do a clean install with the CD that I have? The folder has the product key.

You will need a copy of a previous version of windows. The Disk is all you need. When installing the upgrade version is will ask for the disk to verify the upgrade then go on with a full install. But you will need a disk. I too have an upgrade version of XP and i keep a Win 2000 disk with it for clean installs. You can get a Win 2000, Win 98, Win ME for next to nothing now days.
