I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows xp pro. I went to install some windows updates and it said there were no updates for my computer. I know this is not true since I have not updated anything yet. What should I do?

Assuming it's a legit copy of XP, (if it's not then you won't be allowed to get them), then Windows Update has been kind of flakey lately. Try again in a couple of days or go to the windows update catalog for the updates.

Yes, it is a legal copy of Windows XP Pro. I did install Office XP and updated all those files first, but that shouldn't have affected the regular windows update.

Any chance your date/time is not set correctly?

Just saying, pirated copies can be made to work perfectly with Windows Update, it just takes some work. So even if your copy isn't legit, if you had it working before you can get it working again.

Stupid bug. The least they could do is popup an error if your system time is more than say a day away from there's and tell you WHY....

Sigh,

check the date and time and you must accept the popup program, one suggestion never upgrade, patch windows, i've been using windows for years without using patches and windows ran fine until in a few of my machines i download patches from microcrap and my pc started to run slow and even freeze up but that is my opinion.
