Did I not tell you that I do not care about your opinion or anything you have to say? Reading would help you quite a bit in the future so you don't waste time trying to reply to someone that isn't going to bother reading your post.

Your lips say 'no' but your eyes say 'YES'

No, I saw that he replied to me. I did not read his post. Is that hard to understand?

Maybe a MOD should lock this thread, all I see is flaming and trolling by some members.

The better solution would be to warn/short vacation the flamers and trolls rather than stopping the conversation for everyone by locking the thread.

I still feel the sooner this thread is locked by a Mod the better.

Personally I feel, after wading through the drivel jonmcc33 says in nearly every thread I would consider contributing to, that the thread be locked whenever he posts. Apparently this poster really cannot see the negative atmosphere he creates, nor his insisting to presume what he 'knows', everyone should know, and if they don't, they are wrong. By the way I won't call you a troll since it makes your panties wad up in your vagina, I also won't even view this thread again so I could really care less about the subjective ranting that will undoubtedly commence.

What makes you think my box is limited? What makes you think that I don't know all the ins and outs of Vista? Just because I don't prefer it myself doesn't mean I don't have it nor that I don't have any knowledge on it. Don't presume to know someone...

Yet this is precisely what you're doing in presuming that you know what "99%" of computer users want, and are capable of. And yeah, I can't see how you'd know much about Vista either, as indicated by your slimey, pathological hatred of it.

The company I works for uses Windows XP so that's what I support. You're commenting on how you think the type of tech support person I am based upon my non-preference for Vista? Amazing...how little you know.

Based on your constant high-handed braying I too would assume that you're a less than sterling example of what a support tech should be.

Your statement makes no sense at all.

Microsoft is not to blame for the lack of drivers for the item(s)you or anyone else bought.
Microsoft did provide developers with the API to work with Vista. Check the Windows Catalog to see items supported by Vista or, contact the manufacturer before buying the item to make sure that it is compatable with Vista.

Bottomline if we are being honest here ,then there is no perfect OS for everyone, both XP and Vista have their faults but when I see things like Vista is not stable etc..I think WTF is he talking about.

That's the most sensible thing I've seen! I never bashed Vista for being "unstable" or blamed MS for not having drivers available, but the fact at the end of the day is that I'm a user and I don't care whose fault it is that something doesn't work. All I know is that XP works with this hardware and Vista doesn't. When that changes or I decide to let go of that hardware, THEN I'll be able to evaluate them on their other merits.

LOL! Here's another freakin' idiot. Who said I hated it? Can you even read at all? Where did I say that I hated it? That's what I thought. Now shut up.

ROFL! I've been thanked countless times for the quality of my technical assistance. Again, this has nothing to do with my preference of OS though. You're reaching and desperate to find something to stand on. Buh-bye.

I don't know. I got a BSOD on Vista and all I had open was Firefox. It was a fresh install on a Opteron 165 with an Asus A8N32-SLI motherboard. Newer hardware and a fresh install of the OS. I'd question why a BSOD. I'm sure that's a driver problem.

My beef is that a lot of things just don't WORK like they used to in XP. Soundcard, printer sharing, other legacy devices. I can hear the Vista boosters already ranting about "moving on" but if I have a good thing going, why change?

I've yet to see a Vista user engage in what could be described as boosterism. I have, however seen XP users, even those who admit to having no experience with Vista, stage elaborate Vista-bashing parties at the drop of a hat. As for HCL issues; please don't let you perceptions of how the computer industry SHOULD work color the way things actually DO work. Do you REALLY expect each OS iteration to cover every single legacy device ever produced? Such a thing would be nice, I guess, but I'd never EXPECT it.

I know where my files are, I know how to secure my system, and I can make XP look neato-frito, too. What's wrong with that?

Has anyone in this thread told you that your best course of action is to move to Vista or that you MUST change the way you compute? What I see in your response is an ongoing justification for not upgrading. That's fine though, we all do it to some degree and over MANY things, not just the about what OS to use. The hitch comes in when one takes that internal struggle online and attempts to beat others to death with it. I can only speak for myself in this, but I couldn't care less what you use. It shouldn't be difficult to return the favor.

For a person who thinks that the sun rises and sets in his ass, you sure are brittle, boy. Final verdict: You're a liar, a fool AND a know-nothing.

I have been using Firefox since day one with Vista x64(January 20th) never had a BSOD caused by Firefox ,personally I would of made a note of the BSOD message and also checked if I was using any third party Firefox extensions rather then drivers ,end of the day it does not seem to be a Vista issue.

Fresh installs does not mean a lot, after all the Windows updates/fixes and latest drivers are installed is where I check for quality and stability of the OS in question, then its a question of troubleshooting which is not hard in most cases.

This was a flamebait thread to begin with. Just look at the OP's posts in the thread...should've been locked after his lame bump.

I sure hope the Mods are taking note, hopefully this thread will get locked.

LOL! Somehow I'm supposed to care what you think about me? Again, you have nothing to stand on with these childish accusations.

All over a freakin' operating system preference? Man, you guys here are fucking crazy.

Well look at YOU, giggle-girl! 😀 I can only hope that you're as close to the edge as you seem. Here, how about a bit more kindling: AND you don't seem to even remember half of the dumb sh1t you've said here. What, you living with an old head injury on top of being naturally stupid?

If anyone has OS-related points they want to continue meaningful discussion on, please make a new thread and continue 🙂 Thread closed.
