windows xp sp2: "open file - security warning"

Just installed Windows XP SP2. Any time I try to run an exe that I downloaded from the web, I get an "open file - security warning" warning asking if I want to continue. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to disable it. Anybody know?

I get a similar warning when trying to download exe's, and I've been through IE's security options many times with no luck.

Thanks!

You don't want to disable it. It's there by default in case you're online and some virus/spyware/malware tries to run a program in the background to invade your 'puter. If you disable it and you get attacked by a self running virus/ spyware app that isn't caught by your firewall or AV protection you'll never know it happened till its too late.

It's there for your protection
