Good. Hopefully that will force a few people to actually purchase the software they use.
Only if Microsoft lowers the damn cost.....

BMW's are expensive. Does that mean that we should all go steal BMW's?

You're asking an irrelevant question. The proper comparison would be,

"BMW's are expensive. Does that mean that we should all replicate our own BMW's?". Unfortunately we can't do this yet :(;)

They will not get a penny out of me as a result of their illegal monopoly. It's one thing to buy windows because you like windows. It's another thing to buy windows because you have to to run your applications.

That is an amazingly convoluted bit of logic to justify stealing a piece of software. Kind of like saying all the cars I like run on gasoline therefore I will just pump and run because I hate the oil companies.

I remember there being competition in gasoline market that keeps gas prices down. If we had one gas station company in the US arbitrarily setting gas prices to $10/gallon, the government would come in and break that company up in about 5 seconds. Microsoft is a convicted illegal monopolist, and I will not play their games. I really don't care about an illegal monopolist complaining about illegal copying. Cry me a river :)

Yeah and there is no competition in the computer software/OS market.

I own a new version of Windows XP Pro, I had a fried who is a student buy it for me from his college, I think it was $30 or some rediculously low price. There are alternatives to pirated software. I was using DevilsOwn version of XP, I considered it a try before you buy (you can call it whatever you like), after I was satisfield that I liked it and it would do what I wanted it to do, I bought a legit copy and upgraded the one I had installed and everything is running beautiflly with SP1 in it. Yes here were major flaws in the beginning cause many companies did not have drivers for it, now those are fixed.

Are you a student? Do you qualify for the educational price? If not, than you are pirating this software and are no better than people using the "Devil's Own" version.

Just because you paid for it, does not make it legit. You must abide by the licensing terms -- and those would state that you must be a student.
