I decided that I wanted to uninstall SP1 because I can't use StyleXP or the uxtheme.dll to get different themes on my computer, and I want the gigs of disc space back that SP1 takes up. My question, though, is when I try to uninstall it, this comes up:

here

These programs might not work properly?! :Q Especially things like Windows Media Player, Networking Services, Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client, and Outlook Express. My parents would be so mad if these things didn't work!

So, the point of this:

Has anyone had experience with this error message when uninstalling SP1, and does it really mess up programs like it says?

Thanks!!

Well, installing a beta Service Pack is never a good idea in the first place. One reason is the uninstall is usually one of the last things that gets tested.

Anyway, I would just ignore that message. If those programs worked before you applied the service pack, they should work without it *assuming* the uninstall procedure works properly.

Why Don't you use the Restore utility to go back to a restore point before you installed SP1?

Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, restore.
