i dunno what sp1 is supposed to fix but from what i hear xp works fine as is now...so if u have a fckgw version just dun do anything until something definite comes out if u must have sp1... i dunno whats the big deal...

Christ, you people are treating SP1 like it's a Beta ATI driver.

Q: What's the very first thing you should do after installing Win 2K?
A: Install SP3.

Q: What's the very first thing you should do after installing Win XP?
A: Install SP1.

If nothing else it's worth it from the standpoint that you don't have to run 45 Windows Updates to get your box up to date. Burn SP1 onto a CD, or slipstream it, and you've automatically covered a year's worth of updates + new features.

LOL Viper...I would use the word ignorant, but I'm not that cruel SP1 contains every bug fix, driver update, security fix, and OS enhancement in one single download. Also, it can be slipstreamed for a clean install.

And another thing...the only people that should be worried about this service pack are people who are running pirated versions anyway. For everyone else, it's just a simple download and install.

Well going on my 10th year in enterprise environments in Novemeber I will have to say I've seen CIRCUS PACKS cause problems in multiple occasions one of the worst was when one of our sites when I was at Nextel pushed out Circus Pack 6 and all of a sudden the shipping drivers for 3Com didn't work after the update, the Entire Customer service center at Inverness was down until Desktop support and their net admins and all IT staff from our building had to come over to update the driver, M$ reporting nothing of the sort, it was an easy fix, but explain that to a director when he has 1200 users down at once, not a mom and pop shop..... Hmmmm bring on the cruelty, I have bigger guns boya!

Hell Citibank is FINALLY approving Windows 2000 to be secure and safe to run it's applications... but then again thats only 70,000 PC we are talkin about..:Q

Listen up GM boy Last time I checked, we're enthusiasts around here meaning we download the latest drivers, latest service packs, buy the fastest hardware, and eat security fixes for breakfast. If this were a business environment, I'd still be running Windows 2000 Professional (as MOST of the systems at our school run along with a few NT4 SP6 workstations. We JUST NOW got brand new Dell Dimension systems with Windows XP Pro in one of the labs on campus).
