Windows XP slow loading at "Welcome" screen...

The PC doesn't have nearly anything on it, but for some reason, it sticks at the "Welcome" screen for a good minute or two before loading to the desktop.

How can I figure out what is causing the hang up?

Check your profile size, if could be too big (several gb), or possibly even corrupt.

You can also use the BootVis utility which can trace modules/applications during boot time to spot any that are taking too long.
