Windows XP shut down?

Hi

I have Windows 2K and XP as dual boot on my system. I need to format and reinstall both OS, because they're driving me crazy!
Windows 2K suddenly became sooo slow after I installed Oracle 9i. Then I uninstalled Oracle, but the problem did not disappear. For some reason, my CPU usage is too high (100% most of the time). I cleaned up my registry, and increased my virtual memory, but I still have problems.

Anyway, my other problem is, in XP, when I push the shut down button of my Toshiba Magnia web server, computer makes a hard boot. OS does not even try to shut down itself first. When I do the same thing in Win2K, OS shuts itself down and then hard boot occurs. How do I change that?

Thanks a lot!

Plug and Play OS and ACPI settings in the BIOS should be set to Yes for Plug and Play and ACPI should be set to allow the OS to control it.

Well... that was just odd. I'm sorry about that.

The safest thing you can do is completely format your hard drive, wipe the master boot record, and start from there.
