Windows XP Shortcuts No Longer Work

I can't do control + c to copy. I can't do control + v to paste. I can't use any keyboard shortcuts. No shortcuts work anymore. Stickykeys is turned off. I have no idea what I did. I didn't install any new software. It just stopped working I guess. Anyone know why?

Nope. Only the Num Lock is on.

1) Try a System Restore to "go back in time" to before this happened, if possible. System Restore is in Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

2) Also, have you got a current-generation antivirus software? There is some malware that'll mess with keyboard/mouse stuff. Maybe update your virus definitions and run a full scan, and also scan the computer with some free spyware-removal software like Spybot Search & Destroy and SuperAntispyware.

System Restore only goes back to yesterday.

I'll try to scan it with Adaware then Avast. Thanks for your help.

Good luck and it couldn't hurt to also scan with an online scanner such as this one: http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml This is an ActiveX-based scanner, so use Internet Explorer to run it. No antivirus software detects every type of malware, so a "second opinion" with a different antivirus gives additional assurance that it isn't malware causing the problem.
