Windows XP roll-back

Not sure if there's a 3rd party application (I'm thinking there's no automated way to do this without a 3rd party) that would basically roll-back the machine to a specified 'state' or 'image' whenever the machine is restarted. We'd like to give local admin rights on some workstations knowing that they will be tampered with, but have them roll-back every morning when they're turned back on.

Any ideas?

Look up DeepFreeze, I heard good things about it from my sister who's a librarian. They use it on their lappies.

I can attest to the effectiveness of DeepFreeze. I am a volunteer instructor for SeniorNet in Tucson at Udall Center. We have a classroom lab with 9 student stations and 1 instructor station - all networked. We have DeepFreeze installed so that any reboot automatically restores each machine to a basic standard. Changes made by students are thus deleted on reboot. Works great!

We have a tech committee that has the password etc. to turn DeepFreeze off when we want to change or upgrade all machines. This keeps things in good order.

Another vote of confidence for DeepFreeze here ... I've played around quite a bit with it including intentionally running malware on several PC's & have been able to completely un-do every bit of damage without a hitch.
