Windows xp restarting every night

Since I installed some new hardware in my PC, i.e. a new video card. Windows XP has been restarting itself every night. Automatic updates are off and all my devices are working properly and have all the up to date drivers. Any idea of what may be doing this? I'm pretty sure is not spyware, thanks in advance

It could be you are having BSOD's in the middle of the night and it's restarting. Memory errors or possibly the video card. When I was having memory issues due to an overclock. That's what happened every night. I'd wake up and it wouldn't be locked, and I'd have to log in again. Annoying as all hell when I have things I want to run overnight.

Make sure there is no weird schedule setting that has the computer shut down at a certain time in the early morning, if not, check the Power Settings within XP, aswell as any of your power settings within BIOS. Good luck

Look in the event log to see exactly what is happening, and post here so we'll all see.

If there are memory dumps in c:\windows\minidumps, I'd be happy to look at them.

If you do send dumps, zip them all up as one file, and also send the MPS Reports output (yourcomputername.cab). See my .sig for more info & directions.
