you didn't get the XP CD from dell?
Sure he did, but he either wants to keep it, or else he lost it.
You're an idiot and a troll. I've bought 7, yes 7, Dell laptops in the past two months or so. There are NO CD's included. Not even ones with the drivers, etc.
Yeah, so what? I've bought over 50 in the last 2 years the exactly the same way, because my company has the corporate version, and they get imaged. That still doesn't make it legal to sell them with burned copies of XP!! If I bought the laptop from the OP, and he sent it to me that way, I'd be pissed. If he didn't make good with a legit copy, guess who I'd be calling. He should have done what someone else said, and sold it with no operating system, or got a cd from Dell.

you sir are being a dumb ass.

And you sir are an uninformed little sh!t!!! If you bothered to read the EULA, you would have come accross this paragrah:

TRANSFER-Internal. You may move the Product to a different
Workstation Computer. After the transfer, you must
completely remove the Product from the former Workstation
Computer. Transfer to Third Party. The initial user of the
Product may make a one-time transfer of the Product to
another end user. The transfer has to include all
component parts, media, printed materials, this EULA, and
if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity. The
transfer may not be an indirect transfer, such as a
consignment.
Prior to the transfer, the end user receiving
the transferred Product must agree to all the EULA terms.
No Rental. You may not rent, lease, lend or provide
commercial hosting services to third parties with the
Product.

Now please tell me how the OP is doing this when he's not even including the CD? Here it is for you Home users:

SOFTWARE TRANSFER. Internal. You may move the Software to a different Workstation Computer. After the transfer, you must completely remove the Software from the former Workstation Computer. Transfer to Third Party. The initial user of the Software may make a one-time permanent transfer of this EULA and Software to another end user, provided the initial user retains no copies of the Software. This transfer must include all of the Software (including all component parts, the media and printed materials, any upgrades, this EULA, and, if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity). The transfer may not be an indirect transfer, such as a consignment. Prior to the transfer, the end user receiving the Software must agree to all the EULA terms.

I never said you were wrong, just that you were being a dumb ass. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure that even if it's not completely legit, the OP's scenario (a Dell laptop that didn't come with any OS media), MS is not going to make even the slightest fuss about such a transaction. But, I suppose that wasn't the OP's original question though.
