Hey,
Well, I was playing NOLF2 tonigth when it locked up. I tabbed out and closed it when I went into 640x480 or something like that and 4 bit color. It told me there was an error and to reset. Now, whenever I reset, everything goes fine up until a certain point. The screen after the Windows with the little blue bar that runs across, it goes haywire. I get a full color background with little lines every few inches, mostly pink with white lines. I have NO clue what's going on, a little help?

I had a similar problem recently.....someone brought in their XP Machine and it would not turn on at all....I found out they were not using a spike strip and I think the PSU has been hit by a spike, replaced it and low and behold it started up. They were in a rush so I assumed all was well and gave them the system back.

Turns out it would not load properly....turned out that it had killed the graphics card and caused bad sectors. In another machine it would load but the display came up with all kinds of symbols during loading and loads of scrambelled lines once windows is loaded.

So it might be a dying graphics card. have you overclocked at all? try setting back to default. If not, before you toss it out, just try reseating it first....have you got another graphics card around or someones who could borrow to swap out?
