Was this put there with the WinXP install? Do I need it?

if thay have been for that long without causing problem, i dont see why do you want them out of your system now.

The Instmsi stuff comes with a lot of different installers for programs.

Not that I know of. I'd already checked there. Maybe a registry search will show what uses it.
And I don't think it had an uninstaller. Just wanted to make sure XP didn't install it.
