Windows XP Professional 32-bit

I have been reading up about the various versions of 32-bit of Windows XP. It is very hard to see what the differences are as Microsoft describes each as a gift from the Gods.

As near as I can see, the OEM versions get ruled out because they can only be installed on one computer and you can't install them on the next computer you build.

So far I have been focusing on "Microsoft Windows XP Professional W/SP2" with Microsoft part number= X0631621. (cost= $131.99 with free shipping).

Does this make any sense?

IS that the retail-box version? Where did you find it for that price? Newegg seems to only carry OEM editions. I wouldn't mind a few spare retail copies of XP.

That's OEM (System Builder). Here is retail packaged:

Full Version - $270.00 shipped

Upgrade Version - $190.00 shipped

You can buy two OEM versions for the price of one retail. How many times do you anticipate transfering from one computer to another? If definitely more than twice, the retail is a better value. If definitely not more than twice, retail might not be the better choice.
