Windows XP Pro won't boot and I have two papers to write...HELP!

Here's the deal, I just formatted and re-installed XP Pro, because it was having issues. Now, when it asks me to put in my admin. password to sign in, it hangs on loading personal settings and then won't load. Before it was reboot sometimes when I would run programs, and such. I hav tried it with another stick of memory, and the surface scan of the harddrive didn't show any problems. It was working fine for a while, but recently it went on the fritz! Anyone have any ideas?
