Hmm, the sign up was actually pretty painless. MS does want you to be a "partner" but all that involved was the creation of a company. No info on the "company" is required other than some preference info and an address which can be your home. You can be truthful and state that your company employes one (you) and does not sell anything. I do not know if it would be considered fraudulent to do this but I was very honest about this corp of one and MS happily accepted my request. Thanks for the great deal.

I got the e-mail also. This was going on a computer that i'll be building this winter and was planning to use Linux. I take this as a sign from above (God, Allah, Budda, Herb from accounting :) ) to go with my original plans.

I initially had the hold on my paypal debit card. That expired and I now have the following completed transaction:

May 28, 2002 Debit Card Credit Received From SUNRISE IDENTITY WOODINVILLE WA Completed 48.94

No email cancellation, either.

I wouldn't be concerned with the reversal of the charge on your card. They will probally re-charge you when the package ships...Dell has done this to me a couple of times...

ok..i have NOT received the email yet. However I checked my credit card statement and I didn't find a charge for it. I did receive an email confirmation from them about my order a few weeks back. Does anybody know what might have happened?

Hpoe not. If I recall, the website said it will be shipped in 4-6 weeks. That would make it the middle to the end of June. Keep your fingers crossed.

I received the original confirmation only. Got the temp charge which later disappeared. I emailed them regarding status of order and received this somewhat sterile reply:

>>The Microsoft XP Professional "Go Pro" Collectors Kits are scheduled to ship in 4-6 weeks. At that time you will receive UPS tracking information via email.

Thank you for your order!

Does anybody know if this worked for some of the people that ordered about a month ago? I'm looking either to purchase this deal with M$ adding that nice new feature to Windows Update soon. Did anybody just make up a company and have it work? Unfortunately I can't place the order now since the website is either busy or down and I can't complete my registration process. :(

What am I missing here? I tried this back a few weeks ago and gave up. Saw others have gotten through recently and tried again- but continue to have the same problem.

I signed up for hotmail, and got a .net passport. Went to the order page and followed the order now link. Chose 'I am a MSCP' and it wanted to know what company, I picked one at random, and it wanted to send an email to the admin to verify. Ok, let's try something else. So I went back and said 'I am not a MSCP", at which point it had me enter a company and various information about my position within the company. It seems to accept the information.

I go back to the order link and sign in. Then it asks for my company info. I can enter all this from the information above, but when it asks for the company MSCP id number- I have to choose 'look up my number'(or something to that effect). When I try to look up the company using the information I provided, it can't find a company.

Any suggestions on how everyone else got through all this?
