Windows XP Pro NFR Question

Hi,

I have a copy of Windows XP Pro, the NFR version. My question is can it still be transfered to someone else after I have activated it? I activated it by phone recently because I was doing a reload and my Retail version's media wasn't being read by my CDROM and wouldn't finish the install. Anyway, I activated to get the system up and running then reloaded my Retail version after I fixed some scratches on the disk so the NFR version is no longer in use. If it even matters I only activated it, I chose no when asked if I wanted to register after the install was done. I want to give the NFR version to my Dad, will he have any problems reactivating it on his PC? If so, what special steps, if any, will he have to take inorder to do so?

Thanks!

I say go for it. If he gets any crap, he could say something to the effect that he has one machine at your house and one at his and he bought a copy of something else for the one at your house.

R (Please email be back, as well. 😉

I agree. It's not like you have it running on 20 different machines (do you?) 🙂

As long as it's "in the family" you will be ok.

as long as you have a "licence" (disk) for each machine it's installed on your good to go. but why not just give him the one you didn't use ? or is one home and one pro? then your licencing wouldn't be correct.
good luck
