I'm trying to set up a small network that has limited sharing between my computer and laptop. You see I'm on the school network lan, & would like my computer and laptop only viewable & shared between themselves. I turned off simple file sharing, and added my laptop administrator username ass a user on my computer and did the same for my comp admin username on my laptop. I then set my drive sharing permissions to be limited to my laptop & computer account. Now with these settings, I get the error "<source drive> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource... Access Denied" whenever I try to access my drives on the network.

I tried nearly everything and the only thing that works is setting sharing permissions to EVERYONE. The problem I believe is that my laptop user account name is not associated to my laptop, and rather is associated as simply a username on my computer, and vice versa with my computer username on my laptop. I would like add my laptop as a LOCATION on my computer and associate my laptop username with the laptop LOCATION as well as add my computer as a location on my laptop. Now I have NO idea how to do this. Can anyone give me some direction?

Thanks!

Thanks for the links, but they were not articulate enough to solve my problem. Does anyone know what I can do?
