Windows XP Pro license

i just bought a laptop off of Ebay which came with Windows XP Pro installed on it. the laptop originally had Win 2K installed on it and has the license key on the bottom of the computer.

is there anyway i can find what the license key is for XP Pro in case i need to reinstall the OS. i already have an install disk because i have XP Pro installed on my desktop PC.

There are programs out there that will show the key. Google for XP key changer or something like that.

$10 says the XP Pro installed on your laptop is a Corp copy. 😛

If you have an old Win 98/ME/NT 4/2K disc you can purchase XP Pro upgrade. Otherwise you can purchase XP Pro OEM or retail. If you want cheap try eBay or the FS/T forum.
