Windows XP Pro - Anoying wav file on shut down

When I shut down Windows XP Pro at the end of the day I get this blast of chimes or something before it powers down. Does anyone know how to turn this sound off or kill it?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums Howard! 🙂 Go to Control Panel and click on Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices, then click on Change the sound scheme. Look for something in the list called "Exit Windows" and in the Sounds drop down list, change it to "None". Hope this helps.
