I read all the old posts about this, but none are true to my problem.

I installed XP pro about 4 months ago, and havent turned on my other desktop since. I turn it on now, and it says i need to "activate it before i log on".....i hit yes it jams, i hit no i see my profile name and click it......then it asks me again. Then i hit yes and it jams.

The only thing that changed was i plugged in my Network cable from my hub. Thats it. Any ideas???????

Well, it sounds like you installed it on two machines, so you're asking how to make something against the license work.

The reason the second machine is saying you have to activate is because you only have 30 days from the installation to activate, after that it disables the system. It doesn't matter if the computer was on or not. I don't know why it might be locking up, unless it isn't managing to get an IP from the network or something and that breaks the activation routine. You MIGHT be able to set the clock back in the BIOS, but I'm not sure if that will make the system think it hasn't been 30 days so that you can boot it, now that it has been booted and the activation routine has started (it probably modified the Registry to show it's been past 30 days).
