Hey everyone, I forgot where my post went a few months ago about drivers that werent availible for my specific hardware, and was wondering if there is anything going around nowadays ?

I have a Compaq Presario R3000 (AMD)64 Notebook Computer
When I Had Windows XP PRO 32-Bit I used The following Drivers

ADI 1981B Audio For NVIDIA Chipsets (Windows XP)
It setup using soundmax cadenza or something or other.

Are there any beta drivers or anything i could give a wail at?
Im currently running this only os with no sound, its really a drag.
btw planetamd64 doesnt work, so links other than that would be cool, thanks guys

Assuming nvidia related sound, what is the chipset on the motherboard? Nvidia (assuming)?

They should have drivers up on their site. I didn't have to but I could nab updates directly from Via for my Abit AV8. Abits tend to be slightly older than what Via was putting out so you may just want to go to the chipset manufacters website.

If it is an nvidia based board, just grab the latest XP-64 unified driver set from their website. It should have all the drivers in the bundle.

the nforce unified drivers have a basic nvidia audio support built into them. It works for my Realtek 850 integrated sound (if it's an nforce 3 or 4 mobo, it will likely use realtek). Try the nforce 6.56 Beta drivers, since there are no official x64 drivers yet.

I have the same laptop. TBH winxp 32bit is fine for this machine but if you want 64 for various reasons then i suggest tracking down soundmax 64bit drivers.
