Wondering if changing processor speed is considered a hardware change in regards to product activation. I started getting a "do you want to activate windows xp" message after installing a new graphics card, a second hard drive, along with some fsb changes. Any help appreciated. Thx.

Even if it was considered a change you only have to call them and they get you another code.

Try finding a copy of the corperate edition of Win XP. You have your legal copy as the product ID number. The CE version requires no activation. I haven't tried this to verify, but I will be soon when I rebuild my computer system in a couple of weeks. I'm in the same boat as you, I will be changing processor speeds. I like to do a fresh format every so often (not as often as the one month time limit but you neve know).

WPA is necessary within 30 of install or if you change 6 pieces of hardware!
