I am running windows XP SP2. Mobo is ASUS A8V Deluxe w/ AMD X2 4200+ 1gb ram. Problem is that when I run CPU-Z Under Processor Selection it is grayed out and shows CPU #0 (Core 0). Also when I run windows system information it only shows (1) CPU. In device manager under computer It says "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC". Under processors (2) entries are listed for the X2 4200. Something don't seem right. Some one mentioned about a "MULTIPROCESSOR" setting under computer in device manager. But I can't find it. I've loaded and reloaded VIA 4 in 1 and AMDK8.sys drivers with no luck. Please help.
Thank You
Found the following on another post. Does it mean I have to do a copmplete reinstall? Is there another way around this?
^^yes. although i think that if you've already updated to advanced configuration and power interface, that you cannot update to Multiprocessor PC without a new installation, and using the f5 key and choosing ACPI Multiprocessor PC
