Windows XP not Detecting USB 2.0

I recently installed an AOpen ak79g-1394 motherboard which uses the nForce 2 chipset and has 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back. I have USB 2.0 enabled in the BIOS and Windows XP service pack 1 installed, but no matter what I try, I cannot get windows to recognize the fact that there is indeed a USB 2.0 controller on this motherboard. Does anyone have any suggestions because for now I'm stumped. I also installed the nVidia PCI to USB enhanced hub controller (nVidia USB 2.0 driver). It seems no matter what I try device manager refuses to show me any USB 2.0 lovin' just normal USB. Hope somebody has an idea I haven't tried. Thank you.

I have a epox board (8RDA) I had a similar problem, my board did not detect the USB 2.0 until I selected 1.1+2.0 in the bios. I dunno if your motherboard has that setting or not, but it worked for me.

It uses a Phoenix Award Bios, and has an option to enable USB, once this is done the option to enable USB 2.0 can be enabled and they are both enabled. At least I know other people seem to have had similar problems, thanks for the reply Grminalac.
