Windows XP memory question

Senior member
I'm planning on getting Windows XP when it comes out, I was wondering if XP will run 768 mb of ram, unlike 98, if so I will get another 256 stick since it's so cheep, or would I just be waisting my time and money?

98 will run 768 MB of ram, you just have to be careful of how it allocates memory
for caching.

XP will use as much memory as you can probably put on your motherboard. But the
question is, even as cheap as it is now, do you really use that much memory normally?
