Hey guys/girls,
After no hope the last few months, i've finally gotten my ATI HDTV Wonder tv tuner to work on my MCE2005 box. I just built this box a couple weeks ago, so I was hoping it'd work this time around. I used a trick from the HDTV section on avsforum.com. Well anyway, i've noticed that the files are freaking big as hell when recorded with best quality. I haven't actually "tried" to do this yet, but was curious before i tried. Is it possible to encode the tv files recorded by Media Center? I'd like to encode some of the episodes i record, as long as they're fairly glitch free. Also, if this is possible, can anyone tell me a good way to get rid of the commercials before i do the final encode? Thanks.
