Windows XP MCE 2005 Issues

I work on computers for all my friends and family and have come to truly hate Windows XP MCE 2005. I have a copy of OEM discs, the 3 disc set. My question is does anybody make/sell MCE as 1 single DVD disc, that isnt a hacked/cracked/modified disc at all. I currently have a Sony Vaio Media PC with 200 disc changer attached and went to reload the OS, it has a slot-feed dvd drive that ejects just fine during post but when it comes to put in disc 2 it wont eject for me anymore. I have run into other things in the past too where MCE as a single disc would have benefited me. And I am positive there is no legit MCE disc(s) with SP3 integrated right?

I read this on another forum but dont quite follow...

"Here is what I did to get the files on 1 CD: From CD1 I copied all the files in the root of the CD and the i386 directory (and all subfolders). From CD2 I copied everything except the tabletpc directory. I than created a file named win51ip2 on the root of the cd using win51ip as a template. to tell the intaller that the CD2 files were on the same CD.

I used this method because my CD can be used to repair a 2 CD installation and I can still use the 2 CD set if I need to repair my installation. "

Use nLite and combine the MCE disc to a dvd. As for SP3, I tried to slipstream it but it didn't work. Window install and load fine but all of the MCE and few of the basic window program were missing.

I hated MCE2005 soooo much. Can't you just buy a Win7 upgrade ($110 family pack) and not fight with that terrible implementation of MCE?

I assume you're not upgrading due to some compatibility issues, but i figured I'd be the one to throw out the "upgrade it" comment.
