I remember a large banner strung across the computer software store accross the street from my high school. A lot of hype then, but for a good reason. Can you believe all we had before it was Windows 3.1??? :Q WTF did people even do with computers then? 😉

Uhh. I still remember tweaking CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files to get the maximum available base mem to play games 😀

<< Doom >>

Isn't this played under DOS?

<< Word Processing >>

Word 4.0 under Win 3.1 rite? I suppose WordStar was still very popular then 😀

Uhhh, once upon a time Micro$haft had a good product, they called it M$-DOS.

Digital Research had a better product than Micro$haft called DR-DOS.

Micro$haft made Windoze display a fake error message saying that Windoze was incompatible with DR-DOS when in reality it was simply a way to crush any opposition even though the opposition was far superior.

Story goes with Internet Exploder(Nutscrape), Windoze Media crasher(Reeeelplaya), Me$$enger(ICQ), Exploder(ACDSee) and the list goes on.

Micro$haft didn't get to match Photo$hop with M$PAINT.EXE unfortunately 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

you guys are gonna love it! if you havent moved to w2k yet your gonna fall down, if youve used w2k your gonna like all the nice touches and changes made to the os especially the UI.

Yes, everyone know DOS kicks XP's A$$!

Hehe, oh the memories...

We had Win 3.1 on our high school computers. I remember helping the drafting room computers out by placing the [restrictions] in the win.ini file; no file menu, no save, etc. That way the students couldn't change stuff and then save it. Even if they knew about the restrictions in the ini file, I would attrib the files read only and hidden. Then, just in case they knew about attrib, I renamed the attrib command: Flag. I did it on all the computers too, so they couldn't just copy it over. Fun stuff!

Windows XP Home Edition will be available in an upgrade version for $99 ERP and in a standard version for $199. Windows XP Professional will be available in an upgrade version for $199 and in a standard version for $299.

i'll prolly buy it..

Well seeing as I've heard so many good things about XP... I'll probably get it for free from my mom or at a discount from the MS store. I'm looking forward to the customizable GUI.

There suppose to have some big helicopter stunt to ring in Windows XP, knowing microsoft I wouldn't be surprised if they crashed.

I'll be buying the XP profesional for my mom to use. Has for me, I will stick to windows 2000 for now.
