Windows XP Installation Woes

I have been formatting, and re-installing XP for the last two hours on this guys computer and the screen you usually see when you dual-boot comes up with:

Microsoft Windows XP Home
Microsoft Windows XP Home
Microsoft Windows XP Home

and you have to pick one from the list. im' pretty sure after this install a fourth one will show... how do i get rid of them?

Wow, how come a format didn't wipe out the boot.ini? Did his computer by any chance has mult. hard drives? The master boot up drive might not be the one you install xp on.
