Windows XP home or professional?

I actually plan on buying the operating system.. but is there any real advantage to going the professional route?

For home use, not really. Even for business, I wouldn't be able to justify giving more
money to MS...

Home edition is fine unless you are running a LAN at home . . . then Pro is better.

Yea, like the other guys said, it really depends on what you're planning to do. If you want to do a Remote Desktop Connection and other LAN things, then go with Professional. If you're planning to play games, listen to music, watch movies, then Home should be just fine for you. Hope this helps.

I went with Pro after some friends had tried both the Home and Professional. They recommended Pro for the networking features and since I was in the process of building a dual processor system, Pro was the only way to go.
