How about a little backgound? WHY are you performing a Windows Repair Install? Did you install a new mobo or was your Windows install corrupted?

A repair install will likely not work if your system is infected with a virus or spyware, or if your hard drive is failing.

Ok sorry.
What happened was i installed a copy of office 2003 and then when i restarted all my files/icons came up with the weird icons when windows doesnt know wat to open it with, so i basically cant open anything + when u boot up windows just as it has the welcome to windows it comes up with a word pad full of jiburish. I have taken the hard drive out and ran virus scanners and trijans and spyware removers and they pick up nothing

Hope this helps

I think its time to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows.. repairs do not work all to well.. only in certain cases. Not in your case really.
