Hey guys,

I currently have a 4 computer network, with the domain name LRDomain. Unfortunately I'm having some difficulties accessing my printer.

While I can see my network, I cannot access any of the shared folders because I have insufficient privileges, similarly I cannot connect to my printer because I have insufficient privileges.

My problem is that at no point does Windows prompt me for a username or password, at start up or when I try to access the folders.

I'm really starting to get frustrated and pissed off about this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Almost sounds like youve dropped off the domain. How is your domain set up? Do you have a separate domain controller? Or are you referring to a workgroup called LRDomain?

If it is a real domain, check your computer name tab and make certain you are still on the domain. If you are, try pulling the computer back off the domain, and re-adding it, perhaps with a different name.

You can try using the command to authenticate
"net use \\computername\sharename /u:computername\username password"

This is assuming the shares are set up correctly. View this site for more information on shares:http://www.practicallynetworke...ing/xp/filesharing.htm

Youre right, i just caught that in the title when i came into this thread for the second time. Yeah XP Home cannot join a domain, so if you DO have a true domain setup, that computer WILL have problems accessing almost everything on your network without having to reauthenticate almost every time.
